He has been in terrific form this season and has even been tipped to break the 40 goal mark as he closes on the 42 goal record achieved by previous Old Trafford hero Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2007-08 campaign.

Although Sir Alex Ferguson´s team managed to squander a horrifying number of chances in the first half, Roy Hodgson could only watch in awe as his players were outclassed by the hosts after the interval.

Born on the Kent coast in Ramsgate, Gary Pallister began his career at Northern League Billingham Town before he joined Second Division Middlesbrough as a raw teenager in 1984. After appearing in 156 league matches for The Smoggies, the rock solid player was sold to Manchester United for £2.3 million in the summer of 1989.

An Edinburgh native, Arthur Albiston signed professional terms with Manchester United in the summer of 1974. A spectacular wing back, the Scotsman went on to make his first senior appearance for The Manchester Reds in a Football League Cup Third Round encounter against old crosscity rivals Manchester City shortly after.
