England set out to beat Germany at Free State Stadium in Bloemfontei on Sunday but Joachim Low´s side crushed The Three Lions 4–1 in a controversial match between the old rivals. Wayne Rooney once again failed to deliver the goods and he was lifeless for most of the match, finishing the tournament without scoring a single goal.

With Manchester City expected to make a transfer move for Nemanja Vidic, Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to launch a £25 million bid for Giorgio Chiellini. England shook off a mediocre start to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa to beat Slovenia by 1–0 in front of a 36,000 crowd at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday. Thanks to a brilliant team effort The Three Lions managed to go through to the Second Round of the tournament and a clash with old rivals Germany.
Zoran Tosic Leaves Old Trafford
Manchester United winger Zoran Tosic has joined Russian team CSKA Moscow for a transfer fee of around £8 million after spending only eighteen months at Old Trafford. The Serbian international was signed from Partizan Belgrade for a transfer fee of £7 million in the winter of 2009 before he was loaned out to FC Cologne the following year.

Dwight Yorke was first discovered by Aston Villa manager Graham Taylor in 1989 and made his league debut in a 1–0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in March 1990. A pacey and powerful forward, Yorke proceeded to play well over 200 first team matches for Aston Villa and he helped The Villains win the Football League Cup in 1996.

Although Fabio Capello’s England team were pushing hard to score a goal, The Three Lions struggled to make an impact against an average Algerian team at the Cape Town Stadium on Friday. England´s best goal scoring opportunity came in the 32 minute when the ball fell into the path of Chelsea midfield player Frank Lampard, but his shot from ten yards out was saved by Rais Mbolhi in the Algerian goal.

South Korea midfielder Ji-sung Park enjoyed an excellent game against Greece at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth last Saturday. After Lee Jung-soo had scored the opening goal for the South Koreans on seven minutes, the Manchester United playmaker proceeded to clinch the win in the 52nd minute of the match.

Cape Town born Quinton Fortune began his career with Tottenham Hotspur before he went to Atletico Madrid and then Mallorca. A lavishly gifted midfield creator, he was later spotted by Sir Alex Ferguson and made his league debut for Manchester United in a fine 5–1 triumph over Newcastle United at Old Trafford in August 1999.
