Manchester United end their pre-season tour of the Amer­icas as Sir Alex Ferguson’s men travel from North to Cent­ral Amer­ica to play Club Deport­ivo Guadala­jara on Fri­day. After sign­ing Javier Hernan­dez from the Mex­ican club in April, Manchester United will take on Chivas at the open­ing of their 45 000 capa­city Esta­dio Chivas as a part of the deal. The striker made his first appear­ance for Manchester United in the friendly match against the Major League Soc­cer All Stars this week, scor­ing one the goals in the 5–2 trash­ing of the Amer­ican team at Reli­ant Sta­dium in Houston.

Manchester United trashed the Major League Soc­cer All Stars 5–2 at the Reli­ant Sta­dium in Hou­s­ton on Wed­nes­day. Set­ting out to regain their pride after los­ing 2–1 to Kan­sas City Wiz­ards last Sunday, Manchester United com­pletely dom­in­ated the match right from the start. Fed­erico Macheda found the net after only 24 seconds as he chipped the ball past Donovan Rick­etts, scor­ing one of the quick­est goals in Manchester United his­tory. He then doubled Manchester United’s lead in the 12th minute of the match when he headed a Nani corner past the Amer­ican goalkeeper.

Manchester United take on a col­lec­tion of All Stars rep­res­ent­ing the Major Soc­cer League at Reli­ant Sta­dium in Hou­s­ton on Wed­nes­day. The match in Texas will be the sev­enth time the All Star Team take on an inter­na­tional oppon­ent. Although a friendly, Manchester United are eager to prove that the sur­prise loss to Kan­sas City Wiz­ards on Sunday was just a tem­por­ary set­back. How­ever, the All Stars are more than cap­able of win­ning the match field­ing a side that includes play­ers such as Landon Donovan, Edson Buddle, Guillermo Bar­ros Sch­el­otto, and Dwayne De Rosario.

Mex­ican inter­na­tional Javier Hernan­dez is set for his Manchester United debut while the Old Traf­ford club are in Amer­ica. The striker will join the squad at the end of their North Amer­ican Tour as he will team up against his former club Club Deport­ivo Guadala­jara in Mex­ico on 30 July. Impressed by the 22 year old player’s strike rate Sir Alex Fer­guson signed Hernan­dez for an undis­closed fee before the highly rated young­ster left for the World Cup. Although Sir Alex Fer­guson was eager to form­al­ise con­tract talks in earn­est with the highly rated front­man before the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Manchester United even­tu­ally agreed with Wayne Rooney and his rep­res­ent­at­ive Paul Stret­ford not to begin nego­ti­ations until the con­clu­sion of the tour­na­ment. The new agree­ment will keep the Eng­land inter­na­tional at Manchester United until 2015.
