Federico Macheda To Leave On Loan

Newcastle United are close to a loan deal for Manchester United starlet Federico Macheda. The striker was loaned out to Sampdoria midway through the 2010-11 campaign but he failed to make an impact at the club and returned to Old Trafford at the end of the season after having made 14 league outings for the now relegated Genoa side.

Gabriel Heinze kick started his professional soccer career with Newell’s Old Boys in Argentina before the youth went on to play for Real Valladolid, Sporting Lisbon and Paris Saint-Germain. A solid and hard working defender, Heinze eventually agreed to join Manchester United for a transfer fee of £7 million at the start of the 2004-05 season.

Fierce rivals Manchester United and Arsenal are up against each other at The Theatre of Dreams this weekend in what promises to be a real cracker of an encounter. Sir Alex Ferguson´s youthful Manchester United side defeated Tottenham Hotspur 3–0 at Old Trafford last Monday thanks to second half goals from Danny Welbeck, Anderson and Wayne Rooney, while the North London club lost 2–0 at home to Liverpool in their last league game.

Manchester United, who have always been a frontrunner in the game of football both on and off the field, have announced a most lucrative sponsorship agreement with leading logistics company DHL which will give a further boost to the commercial arm of the English Premier League club. The company will pay around £10 million a year while Aon will continue to pay £20 million a year to sponsor Manchester United’s match shirts.

A young and exciting Manchester United side left the Tottenham Hotspur players wondering what actually hit them as Sir Alex Ferguson´s boys crushed the visitors 3–0 at Old Trafford yesterday. Danny Welbeck, who is back at Manchester United after a successful loan spell with Sunderland, scored one goal and created another for Anderson before Wayne Rooney made the final score read 3–0 in Manchester United´s favour.

Reigning Premier League champions Manchester United play hosts to Harry Redknapp´s Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford this Monday evening. Manchester United will badly miss the services of central defenders Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic who are both sidelined with injuries while Tottenham have long term injury absentees in William Gallas, Alan Hutton, Jermaine Jenas, Ledley King, Steven Pienaar and Wilson Palacios.

Belfast born Tommy Jackson kick started his round ball caeer with Glentoran before he was transferred to Everton in February 1968. While at Goodison Park, the midfielder made 32 league outings for The Evertonians and won the First Division with the club in 1969–70 before he decided to team up with Nottingham Forest in October 1970.
