Manchester United managed to bag all three points in the lunch time encounter against Everton at Goodson Park on Saturday courtesy of an early Javier Hernandez goal. And although Everton came more into the match as The Reds defended ever deeper, the hosts failed to level the score with the game ending 1–0 in favour of the visitors.

Following a 3–1 victory in the first leg, Manchester United once again put up an astonishing display by demolishing League of Ireland side Waterford to the tune of 7–1 at Old Trafford in October 1968. The Blues were well up for the challenge and fought hard in the first period but they ran completely out of gas after the half time break.

In what turned out to be a one sided affair, Manchester United beat League Two team Aldershot 3–0 at Recreation Ground in the Football League Cup Fourth Round on Tuesday. After the 6–1 defeat against Manchester City at Old Trafford last Sunday, Sir Alex Ferguson had changed the whole team for the game against The Shots.

After suffering a 6–1 defeat at home to Manchester City on Sunday, Manchester United prepare to take on League Two outfit Aldershot at Recreation Ground in the Carling Cup this Tuesday. The last time the two clubs played each other was in the Football League Cup way back in August 1971 when Manchester United beat Jimmy Melia´s Aldershot 3–1 thanks to goals from George Best, Brian Kidd and Denis Law.

The Reds were humiliated by Manchester City on Sunday as braces from Mario Bolatelli and Edin Dzeko along with a goal each from Sergio Ageuro and David Silva gave The Light Blues a 6–1 triumph.
