The Reds took the lead in the 38th minute through a well taken penalty from Javier Hernandez before Dimitar Berbatov made the score read 2–0 in the home team´s favour with a second spot-kick eight minutes into the second period.

After being knocked out of the FA Cup by Liverpool last Saturday, it´s back to the league for Manchester United as they take on Tony Pulis´s Stoke City at Old Trafford this Tuesday. In the reverse fixture in September, the teams drew 1–1 at Britannia Stadium with Luis Nani scoring for The Reds while Peter Crouch equalised for Stoke.

Sir Alex Ferguson was not quite in the mood after his Manchester United side were knocked out of the FA Cup by Liverpool at Anfield Road on Saturday. With only two minutes left of the match, Kenny Dalglish´s men clinched the victory when Dirk Kuyts collected a flick-on from Andy Carroll and powered the ball past David de Gea.
