Manchester United collected a morale boosting 2–0 win over Stoke City at Old Trafford on Tuesday. The Reds took the lead in the 38th minute through a well taken penalty from Javier Hernandez before Dimitar Berbatov made the score read 2–0 in the home team´s favour with a second spot-kick eight minutes into the second period.

Sir Alex Ferguson was not pleased with former Liverpool defender Alan Hansen’s analysis of his Manchester United side after the 2–1 victory against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. The Old Trafford boss now uses his programme notes for the home match with Stoke City on Tuesday to deal with the outspoken Match of the Day pundit.

After being knocked out of the FA Cup by Liverpool last Saturday, it´s back to the league for Manchester United as they take on Tony Pulis´s Stoke City at Old Trafford this Tuesday. In the reverse fixture in September, the teams drew 1–1 at Britannia Stadium with Luis Nani scoring for The Reds while Peter Crouch equalised for Stoke.

Sir Alex Ferguson was not quite in the mood after his Manchester United side were knocked out of the FA Cup by Liverpool at Anfield Road on Saturday. With only two minutes left of the match, Kenny Dalglish´s men clinched the victory when Dirk Kuyts collected a flick-on from Andy Carroll and powered the ball past David de Gea.

The clash between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield Road on Saturday no doubt lived up to its billing as the biggest game of the FA Cup Fourth Round. The two sides last met at Anfield in the FA Cup in February 2006 when the hosts won the match 1–0 courtesy of a headed goal from Peter Crouch in the 19th minute of play.

Luis Nani is most likely to miss Manchester United’s FA Cup Fourth Round tie with historical enemies Liverpool at Anfield Road this weekend. Nani, who has been in great form this campaign, was injured in the close 2–1 win away to Arsenal last Sunday and the winger could be sidelined for several weeks with damaged ankle ligaments.
