While at Manchester United, McGrath amassed 163 league appearances and won an FA Cup medal in 1985 after his club had beaten double chasing Everton in the the final.

Born in Sweden, Jesper Blomquist appeared for a number of clubs before he was brought to Manchester United from Parma for a transfer fee of £3.4 million in the summer of 1998. After making his league debut for Manchester United in a brilliant 4–1 triumph against Charlton Athletic at Old Trafford in September 1998, the schemer made 25 league appearances for the club and was part of the team that won the coveted Treble in 1999.

A Manchester native, Andy Ritchie was discovered by local team Manchester United and the natural born goal poacher made his First Division debut for the club in a convincing 6–2 win against Everton at Goodison Park in December 1977. The trigger happy marksman managed to score 13 goals in 33 league appearances for Manchester United before he was sold to Brighton and Hove Albion for an estimated fee of £500,000 in October 1980.

Karel Poborsky was born in the South Bohemian town of Trebon and appeared for a number of clubs in Czechoslovakia before he signed with Manchester United at the beginning of the 1996–97 campaign. Poborsky made his Manchester United debut in a 2–2 draw with Everton at Old Trafford in August 1996 and the creative midfield man went on to appear in 32 league matches for the club between 1996 and 1998.

Barclays Premier League leaders Manchester United were mediocre against West Bromwich Albion last Saturday and Sir Alex Ferguson´s players were more than lucky to come away from the Hawthorns with a narrow 2–1 victory, while The Potters managed to beat Everton 2–0 at Britannia Stadium last weekend and they are now an impressive eighth in the top flight table.

Born and growing up in Dublin, Mick Martin initiated his soccer career as a schoolboy player with local team Home Farm. At the beginning of the 1968–69 campaign, Martin moved on to famous League of Ireland club Bohemians where the hard working and strong tackling midfield player spent nearly five years before he was discovered by newly appointed Manchester United manager Tommy Docherty midway through the 1972–73 season.

The frustrations over Manchester United’s form finally boiled over this week with Sir Alex Ferguson blasting his players for lacking concentration after four draws in seven matches so far this season. Hence, Sir Alex Ferguson’s men have dropped eight valuable points away from home following their draw against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light last Saturday and the United manager thinks his team is in need of some extra fire-power. After failing to win their opening away matches at Fulham, Everton, Bolton and Sunderland, Manchester United are five points behind Chelsea.
