Following a narrow 1–0 win against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday, Manchester United prepare to take on Romanian minnows Otelul Galati in the UEFA Champions League at Old Trafford this upcoming Wednesday. Manchester United will be without Tom Cleverley, Ryan Giggs, Chris Smalling and Ashley Young, while Otelul Galati will miss midfield player Laurentiu Bus and central defender Milan Perendija.

Manchester United managed to bag all three points in the lunch time fixture against local rivals Everton at Goodson Park on Saturday thanks to a goal from Javier Hernandez in the 19th minute of the derby clash. Although The Evertonians came more into the match as Manchester United defended ever deeper, the home side failed to level the score with the game ending 1–0 in favour of Sir Alex Ferguson´s team.
Tom Cleverley Signs New Contract

Tom Cleverley has signed a new and lucrative four-year deal with Manchester United which will keep the inspirational midfield playmaker at Old Trafford until 2015. After enjoying successful loan spells with Leicester City, Watford and Wigan Athletic over the past three seasons, he started his first Premier League match for Manchester United away to West Bromwich on the opening day of the 2011-12 campaign.

Sir Alex Ferguson´s youthful Manchester United side defeated Tottenham Hotspur 3–0 at Old Trafford last Monday thanks to second half goals from Danny Welbeck, Anderson and Wayne Rooney, while the North London club lost 2–0 at home to Liverpool in their last league game.

A young and exciting Manchester United side left the Tottenham Hotspur players wondering what actually hit them as Sir Alex Ferguson´s boys crushed the visitors 3–0 at Old Trafford yesterday. Danny Welbeck, who is back at Manchester United after a successful loan spell with Sunderland, scored one goal and created another for Anderson before Wayne Rooney made the final score read 3–0 in Manchester United´s favour.

Barclays Premier League champions Manchester United came from 2–0 down at the break to edge out FA Cup winners Manchester City by 3–2 at Wembley Stadium in the Community Shield on Sunday afternoon. A goal from England international Chris Smalling and a brace from bandy legged flankman Nani eventually saw Sir Alex Ferguson´s Manchester United team running out deserved winners in the end.

After winning their opening three friendly matches of their 2011 summer tour of the United States, Manchester United lock horns with the MLS All Stars at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey this Wednesday. Last year, Sir Alex Ferguson´s players outclassed the MLS All Stars to the tune of 5–2 at the Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas thanks to goals from Federico Macheda, Darron Gibson, Tom Cleverley and Javier Hernandez respectively.

The frustrations over Manchester United’s form finally boiled over this week with Sir Alex Ferguson blasting his players for lacking concentration after four draws in seven matches so far this season. Hence, Sir Alex Ferguson’s men have dropped eight valuable points away from home following their draw against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light last Saturday and the United manager thinks his team is in need of some extra fire-power. Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley will now be given the chance to gain some valuable Premier League experience as Wigan Athletic manager Roberrto Martinez has signed him on a season long loan deal on transfer deadline day. After impressing in Manchester United’s pre-season games this summer, manager Sir Alex Ferguson wanted the promising midfield dynamo to join a club in the Premier League to further his development.
