Despite a dip in revenue during the first quarter, David Gill has reassured Manchester United fans Sir Alex Ferguson will have money to spend in the summer. The Old Trafford club´s quarterly results show that revenues dropped in the three months ending March 31 by £4.4 million from 2011, £70.8 million compared to £75.2 million.
According to David Gill, there is no reason to worry about the future of The Manchester Reds. David Gill: “We can compete. Why can we compete? Because our revenues are in the top three in world football and they are growing significantly in terms of our commercial area and the media area. We still pay very good contracts but we also have other assets at Manchester United that we believe can be used to get the best players in, whether it is Alex Ferguson, or the chance to play alongside players like Ryan Giggs.”
