Des­pite a dip in rev­enue dur­ing the first quarter, David Gill has re­as­sured Manchester United fans Sir Alex Fer­guson will have money to spend in the sum­mer. The Old Traf­ford club´s quarterly res­ults show that rev­en­ues dropped in the three months end­ing March 31 by £4.4 mil­lion from 2011, £70.8 mil­lion com­pared to £75.2 mil­lion.

Ac­cord­ing to David Gill, there is no reason to worry about the fu­ture of The Manchester Reds. David Gill: “We can com­pete. Why can we com­pete? Be­cause our rev­en­ues are in the top three in world foot­ball and they are grow­ing sig­ni­fic­antly in terms of our com­mer­cial area and the me­dia area. We still pay very good con­tracts but we also have other as­sets at Manchester United that we be­lieve can be used to get the best play­ers in, whether it is Alex Fer­guson, or the chance to play along­side play­ers like Ryan Giggs.”
