Reportedly, Manchester United have signed a lucrative five-year sponsorship contract with General Motors that will see the car maker’s famous Chevrolet brand become the Old Trafford club’s official automotive sponsor. The giant American automobile manufacturer will replace Audi as official car supplier to Manchester United.
General Motors Company employs 202,000 people and produces cars and trucks in 31 countries. GM emerged from a government backed Chapter 11 reorganisation back in 2009. Richard Arnold: “With 659 million Manchester United fans around the world, the commitment that Chevrolet is making to football and its plans to bring these fans closer to our club is very exciting for us. This is also the first time we have teamed up with a US automotive partner and with the growing popularity of the club in America, we are hoping the relationship will allow us to further expand our fan base in the country.”
