Roy Hodgson Pleased With Players
May 28, 2012 by Chris Marker · 1 Comment
New Three Lions manager Roy Hodgson was full of praise for his players after watching his side defeat Norway in an international friendly match in Oslo on Saturday. England managed to edge out the Norwegians by 1–0 courtesy of a strike from Manchester United flankman Ashley Young in the ninth minute of the friendly encounter.
Roy Hodgson was impressed by the performance of his side at the Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo. Roy Hodgson: “It was a marvellous start to my career as England manager because I know how hard it is to win in Norway. It is a long time since the Norwegians have lost at home and it is a great start for us. I am also aware it is a work in progress. After only three days with the team, we have come here and given a more than reasonable performance at a place where everyone has told me it is very difficult to get a result.”
