Manchester United and Eng­land icon Wayne Rooney was full of praise for Sir Alex Fer­guson after the final whistle at Car­row Road yes­ter­day. Rooney, who missed the 2–1 win over Nor­wich City due to throat infec­tion, said the Old Traf­ford boss knows how to get the best out of his play­ers and that he´s the key to win­ning the league title.

Manchester United´s per­form­ance against Nor­wich City may have been a bit shaky but three points at this stage of the Premier League cam­paign are abso­lutely price­less. After the nar­row and hard fought vic­tory over The Canar­ies on Sunday, The Manchester Reds are now just two points behind their rivals and fel­low title chasers Manchester City. Wayne Rooney: “Sir Alex Fer­guson is a great man­ager. He knows which play­ers he can speak to and which play­ers he can shout at. He knows how the play­ers react and how to get the best out of them. That’s import­ant, espe­cially in this day and age. His men­tal­ity for the game, his com­mit­ment and desire and obvi­ously things that the play­ers try and take on them­selves. For me, he has been bril­liant. He is a great leader of our team.”
