Norman Whiteside grew up in Belfast where the talented youngster was spotted by Manchester United scout Bob Bishop. Hailing from the town of Urai, Jose Kleberson started his career with Atletico Paranaense where the youth became one the key components in the team. His fame spread and the promising midfield player was signed by Manchester United chief Sir Alex Ferguson for a transfer fee of around £6.5 million at the start of the 2003-04 campaign.
Hailing from Larne, Keith Gillespie signed for Manchester United at the beginning of the 1991–92 campaign. A fast and powerful winger, the Northern Irishman made his first senior appearance for Manchester United in a comfortable 2–0 win against against Division Three outfit Bury at Old Trafford in the FA Cup Third Round in January 1993.
A Mancunian, Wes Brown signed full professional terms with his local team Manchester United in November 1996 at the age of seventeen. A highly dependable defender, he made his first English Premier League appearance for The Red Devils in a 3–0 success against old arch rivals Leeds United at Old Trafford in on the fourth of May 1998.
Owen Hargreaves started out with his local outfit Calgary Foothills before the rising star signed for Bayern Munich at the beginning of the 1997–98 campaign. After winning four Bundesliga titles and the UEFA Champions League with The Bavarians, Hargreaves moved on to Manchester United for a cool £17 million in the summer of 2007.
