Antonio Valencia Out With Injury

Ant­o­nio Valen­cia will be side­lined with injury for at least four weeks after the power­ful and pacy winger dam­aged his ham­string in the 2–0 win over Ajax at the Ams­ter­dam Arena in the Europa League on Thursday. The Ecuadorian was helped from the field ten minutes after com­ing on as a late second half sub­sti­tute for Ash­ley Young.

Ant­o­nio Valen­cia: “After my last injury exper­i­ences I feared the worst. I was anguished but after tests the med­ical staff have con­firmed a muscle rup­ture in the ham­string. I am angry because it has happened at such a key moment in the sea­son for Manchester United. I have developed and played some good matches and that is the worst con­sequence of all this. But now the doc­tors have calmed me down and I have to recu­per­ate and then help the team in our race to win the Eng­lish Premier League and Europa League.”
