Antonio Valencia will be sidelined with injury for at least four weeks after the powerful and pacy winger damaged his hamstring in the 2–0 win over Ajax at the Amsterdam Arena in the Europa League on Thursday. The Ecuadorian was helped from the field ten minutes after coming on as a late second half substitute for Ashley Young.
Antonio Valencia: “After my last injury experiences I feared the worst. I was anguished but after tests the medical staff have confirmed a muscle rupture in the hamstring. I am angry because it has happened at such a key moment in the season for Manchester United. I have developed and played some good matches and that is the worst consequence of all this. But now the doctors have calmed me down and I have to recuperate and then help the team in our race to win the English Premier League and Europa League.”
