Want­away Arsenal for­ward Robin van Per­sie has admit­ted that Manchester United is his favoured des­tin­a­tion. The Neth­er­lands inter­na­tional, who has attrac­ted the interest of a num­ber of top clubs lately, man­aged to notch up a highly impress­ive 30 goals in 38 Eng­lish Premier League out­ings for the North Lon­don­ers last cam­paign.

Robin van Per­sie has refused to sign a new con­tract at the Emir­ates Sta­dium and his career with The Gun­ners is likely to end dur­ing the sum­mer. The high fly­ing Dutch­man has been linked to numer­ous clubs in the past few months, includ­ing Bar­celona. Juventus, Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Mad­rid. Sir Alex Fer­guson: “Obvi­ously Arsenal have given out the fact that we have made a bid for Robin van Per­sie. We try to keep busi­ness as close as pos­sible to us until the moment we con­clude a deal. There’s no point talk­ing about some­thing that might not hap­pen.
