Blackburn V Manchester United

Manchester United make the short trip to Ewood Park to take on Blackburn Rovers side this Monday. In the reverse English Premier League clash in December, The Blue and Whites surprisingly edged out Manchester United by 3–2 at Old Trafford thanks to a double from Nigerian frontman Yakubu Aiyegbeni and a goal from Grant Hanley.
According to the latest medical information, Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand will be fit for the important league fixture with neighbours Blackburn Rovers on Monday. The Riversiders, for their part, will probably have to make do without the services of France international centre half Gael Givet due to injury. In the corresponding fixture last campaign, the two teams drew 1–1 with the Ewood Park outfit going ahead in the first period through Brett Emerton after the area-to-area midfield playmaker managed to beat Manchester United net custodian Tomasz Kuszack with a thunderbolt effort. In the second period, however, England international central attacker Wayne Rooney converted a highly controversial penalty to bring Sir Alex Ferguson´s troops level. And although Manchester United could only manage a narrow 1–0 victory against Fulham at The Theatre of Dreams in their last league game, The Manchester Reds should bag another three points against Steve Kean´s Blackburn side this upcoming Monday.
