Danny Drinkwater

Promising Manchester United youngster Danny Drinkwater has joined Football League Championship outfit Leicester City for an undisclosed transfer free. The Manchester born midfield player signed a trainee contract with The Reds at the end of the 2005-06 campaign and has previously been loaned out to Huddersfield Town, Cardiff City, Watford and Barnsley in order to acquire valuable first team experience.

Nigel Pearson: “Danny Drinkwater is a player we have monitored for a long time, so we are delighted to bring him to King Power Stadium. Drinkwater is a player who will bring energy and creativity to the team. We have been looking to strengthen the squad since joining and this signing begins that process. He is a young and hungry player and his ambitions match those of the club. Drinkwater fits the criteria and standards that we set here and we look forward to him joining up with his new colleagues.”
