Stu­art Pearce´s Great Bri­tain side play their first match of the 2012 Lon­don Olympics Games against Senegal at Old Traf­ford on Thursday. Great Bri­tain has not com­peted in an Olympic Games since 1960, while The Lions of Ter­anga will ap­pear at the Men’s Olympic Foot­ball Tour­na­ment for the first time in the foot­balling his­tory of the na­tion.

Manchester United ever­green Ryan Giggs is one of the three over­age play­ers se­lec­ted along with Craig Bel­lamy of Liv­er­pool and Manchester City´s Micah Richards. Team Great Bri­tain man­ager Stu­art Pearce has named the former Wales winger to lead his squad in the 2012 Lon­don Olympic Games and the well re­spec­ted and vastly ex­per­i­enced player will now be mak­ing his de­but at an in­ter­na­tional tour­na­ment.
