Sir Alex Ferguson singled out Michael Carrick for praise after his second half goal in the 2–0 win over Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road last Sunday. In the 56th minute of the play, the England international ran from his own half with the ball magnetically attached to his feet to score Manchester United´s second goal of the game.
Michael Carrick is not known as a regular goal scorer and his second period contribution against Neil Warnock´s Queens Park Rangers team on Sunday was his first goal in the English Premier League since January 2010. Sir Alex Ferguson: “Michael Carrick has been terrific in the last few weeks and I am really pleased with his performances. He is really helping Phil Jones in the midfield. The pair of them give us that control in the middle of the pitch. Queens Park Rangers have proved a real problem to a lot of teams at Loftus Road this current campaign but we kept them quiet for most of the match.”
