Javier Hernandez Nets The Winner

Manchester United managed to bag all three points in the lunch time encounter against Everton at Goodson Park on Saturday courtesy of an early Javier Hernandez goal. And although Everton came more into the match as The Reds defended ever deeper, the hosts failed to level the score with the game ending 1–0 in favour of the visitors.
In an evenly contested game, Manchester United took an early lead in the 19th minute of the first half when a cross ball from Patrice Evra was converted into the back of the net by Javier Hernandez from a mere two yards out. The Everton players pressed hard for an equaliser and the blue shirts came close to level the score when a well-hit free-kick from left fullback Leighton Baines smashed against the crossbar shortly before the half time signal. Just eleven minutes into the second half, however, midfield dynamo Tom Cleverley was replaced by Portuguese international Luis Nani with what appeared to be an injury to his knee. Only a few minutes later, Danny Welbeck could have made it 2–0 to Manchester United but his strike from close range was brilliantly saved by Tim Howard in the Everton goal. Midway through the second period, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson eventually decided to make two more substitutions with goal scorer Javier Hernandez making way for Dimitar Berbatov and then Danny Welbeck being replaced by Antonio Valencia. Despite winning away to the Merseysiders on Saturday, Manchester United still remain five points behind Roberto Mancini´s table topping Manchester City.
