Following a 2–2 draw at home to Benfica in the Champions League on Tuesday, Manchester United prepare to take on Alan Pardew´s Newcastle United team at Old Trafford this Saturday looking for their fourth consecutive victory in the Premier League. Manchester Unted overcame Swansea City 1–0 at Liberty Stadium on Saturday, while Newcastle suffered a 3–1 defeat away to table topping Manchester City.

Michael Carrick:  “Manchester United were not at their best against Swansea and the football was not as fluent or easy on the eye as it could have been. But we are happy to have won the match and to have got the three points. At this stage of the campaign it´s about picking up points. It´s about grafting, sticking together and showing a lot of character. Judge where we are by Christmas and we will kick on from there.”
