Manchester United Keen On Defender

Ac­cord­ing to the latest trans­fer ru­mours, Manchester United man­ager Sir Alex Fer­guson is be­lieved to be keen to sign 23-year-old Valen­cia de­fender Jordi Alba. A Spain in­ter­na­tional, the young and prom­ising player is seen as a re­place­ment for at­tack minded left full­back Patrice Evra and is rated at around £15 mil­lion by his club.

Born in the city of Bar­celona, Jordi Alba star­ted out his foot­balling ca­reer with local team Bar­celona be­fore the youth moved on to Unio Es­port­iva Cor­nella in 2005. After spend­ing two years at Es­ta­dio Vía Fer­rea, Alba was signed by Valen­cia where he made his La Liga de­but in a 4–2 vic­tory against Real Val­lad­olid at Es­ta­dio Nuevo Jose Zor­rilla in Septem­ber 2009. Jordi Alba has so far col­lec­ted three full caps for his nat­ive coun­try after mak­ing his in­ter­na­tional de­but in a 3–1 win over Scot­land in Al­licante in Oc­to­ber 2011.
