Manchester United have con­firmed that the club will meet Bar­celona in a pre-season friendly at the 43,000 ca­pa­city Ullevi Sta­dium in Gothen­burg on Wed­nes­day the eight of Au­gust. The friendly en­counter in Sweden will be a re­play of the UEFA Cham­pi­ons League fi­nals between Bar­celona and Manchester United back in 2009 and 2011.

Manchester United will play Pep Guardiola´s Bar­celona team as part of the Old Traf­ford club´s pre-season sched­ule which also in­cludes friendly matches in China, Nor­way and South Africa. The Catalans have met Manchester United on thir­teen oc­ca­sions but have man­aged to de­feat The Reds only four times. The last time the two gi­ants met was when Manchester United edged out Bar­celona 2–1 at at Fe­dex Field in Wash­ing­ton DC in July 2011.
