Manchester United pre­pare to lock horns with Bar­celona at the 47,000 ca­pa­city Nya Ullevi Sta­dium in Gothen­burg this Wed­nes­day as part of their pre­par­a­tions for the new sea­son. The last time the two gi­ant clubs met was when Sir Alex Ferguson´s play­ers de­feated The Catalans by 2–1 at Fe­dex Field in Wash­ing­ton DC in July 2011.

Both Manchester United and Bar­celona are well into their pre-season pre­par­a­tions. The Manchester Reds drew 0–0 with VIF Oslo in their last friendly game, while Tito Vilanova´s troops de­feated Paris Saint-Germain 4–1 on pen­al­ties fol­low­ing a 2–2 draw.
