Sir Alex Ferguson

After a disappointing result against Swiss side FC Basel in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, Manchester United prepare to take on Premier League new boys Norwich City at Old Trafford this weekend. Manchester United dropped their first league points of the campaign with a 1–1 draw against Stoke City on Saturday, while The Canaries managed to beat Steve Bruce´s Sunderland 2–1 at Carrow Road last Monday.

Sir Alex Ferguson: “The attacking part was very good at times, but there was a certain carelessness about us, FC Basel could really have scored three goals in the first half. We played too many players forward on the pitch tonight, far too many. But as it proved by doing that there were so many gaps in the midfield to the back four. Really if we had concentrated on the defensive part, I don’t think we would have had our problems.”
