The Reds are no doubt favour­ites to beat an Ever­ton side who enter this match on the back of a pain­ful 2–1 defeat to bit­ter adversar­ies Liv­er­pool in the FA Cup Semi Final.

The Good­ison Park out­fit have a rather dis­mal away record against Manchester United in recent years. The Ever­to­ni­ans have actu­ally not defeated The Manchester Reds at their Old Traf­ford home since August 1992, when Peter Beard­s­ley, Robert War­zycha and Mo John­ston respect­ively scored the goals in a con­vin­cing 3–0 tri­umph.
