Manchester United Sign Dutchman

Manchester United chief Sir Alex Fer­guson has pur­chased Alex­an­der Buttner from Ere­divisie out­fit Vitesse Arnhem for a trans­fer fee believed to be some­where in the region of £4 mil­lion. The Dutch left full­back has been fol­lowed by sev­eral Eng­lish Premier League clubs recently, includ­ing Ful­ham, Queens Park Rangers and Southampton.

Doet­in­chem born Alex­an­der Buttner has made well over 100 first team appear­ances for Vitesse Arnhem since the pre­co­ciously tal­en­ted young defender arrived at the Ere­divisie club at the begin­ning of the 2008-09 cam­paign. Reportedly, the much wanted young­ster trav­elled to the United King­dom on Sunday to undergo a med­ical at Manchester United on Monday. Alex­an­der Buttner: “This is really a dream come true. It was all arranged very quickly and of course I am delighted. Hap­pily everything is com­ing to an end.”
