After being knocked out of the FA Cup by Liverpool last Saturday, it´s back to the league for Manchester United as they take on Tony Pulis´s Stoke City at Old Trafford this Tuesday. In the reverse fixture in September, the teams drew 1–1 at Britannia Stadium with Luis Nani scoring for The Reds while Peter Crouch equalised for Stoke.
Manchester United managed to edge out an aggressive and well organised Stoke City side 2–1 when the two clubs played each other at Old Trafford last campaign courtesy of goals from Javier Hernandez and Luis Nani. And just for the sake of information, Stoke´s last top flight triumph against Manchester United at the Theatre of Dreams came back in the 1975–76 season when Tony Waddington´s ageing side won 1–0 thanks to a late goal from long serving evergreen Alan Bloor. Now if football history and statistics are anything to go by, then heaven help The Potters! Manchester United Squad: David de Gea, Ben Amos, Fabio, Rafael, Chris Smalling, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Jonny Evans, Michael Carrick, Paul Scholes, Paul Pogba, Antonio Valencia, Ji-sung Park, Ryan Giggs, Danny Welbeck, Dimitar Berbatov, Javier Hernandez, Ashley Young, Wayne Rooney.
