Following his recent summer free-transfer release from Manchester United, Michael Owen could end up at fellow English Premier League club Stoke City. Reportedly, the previous Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United and Manchester United goal plunderer is expected to sign up with the Britannia Stadium outfit in a few weeks.
Michael Owen kick started his professional soccer career at Liverpool before he moved on to Real Madrid at the end of the 2003-04 season. The England international later teamed up with Newcastle United before he went to Manchester United on a free transfer at the beginning of the 2009-10 campaign. Tony Pulis: “We are monitoring him, so it’s a case of waiting to see what happens. We tried to find out what he was doing a couple of years ago. But nothing came of it. Everyone knows Michael Owen’s pedigree and the fact he has performed with such distinction at the highest level, for club and country.”
