Accord­ing to the latest reports, former Manchester United and Eng­land goal poacher Michael Owen has been linked to a move to his boy­hood idols Ever­ton. The trig­ger happy sharp­shooter, who was released from Manchester United at the end of the 2011-12 cam­paign, has also attrac­ted the interest of ambi­tious Stoke City chief Tony Pulis.

Chester born Michael Owen ini­ti­ated his pro­fes­sional foot­ball career at Liv­er­pool before he went on to appear for Real Mad­rid, New­castle United and Manchester United. The nat­ural born hit­man made his inter­na­tional senior debut for Eng­land in a 2–0 friendly loss against Chile at Wemb­ley Sta­dium back in Feb­ru­ary 1998 and man­aged to col­lect an impress­ive 89 full caps for his coun­try, scor­ing 40 goals in the pro­cess. Michael Owen: “I have been in con­tact with quite a few teams and I expect to be don­ning a new shirt soon.”
