According to the latest news reports, bandy legged flankman Luis Nani is most likely to miss Manchester United’s FA Cup Fourth Round tie with historical enemies Liverpool at Anfield Road this weekend. The Portuguese international, who has been in great form this campaign, was injured in the close 2–1 win away to Arsenal last Sunday and could be sidelined for several weeks with damaged ankle ligaments.
A fast and direct winger, Luis Nani has enjoyed tremendous success at both club and international level. The Cape Verde born footballer made his breakthrough with Lisbon team Sporting Clube de Portugal before he was brought to Manchester United for a fee somewhere in the region of €25 million at the beginning of the 2007-08 season. After making his senior debut for the Portuguese national side in a prestige friendly encounter against Denmark at Brondby Stadium in September 2006, Nani has so far managed to record an impressive 51 international appearances for his native country.
