Manchester United take on Steve Bruce´s Sun­der­land at Old Traf­ford this week­end look­ing for their fourth suc­cess­ive win since los­ing at home to nou­veau riche neigh­bours Manchester City. The Reds wel­come back skip­per Nemanja Vidic for the upcom­ing match but they will be without the ser­vices of Tom Clev­er­ley, Ryan Giggs, Michael Owen, Chris Smalling and Ash­ley Young who are all out side­lined with vari­ous injuries.

Sir Alex Fer­guson: “Steve Bruce has been under a bit of pres­sure but these days you only need to lose a couple of games and you are under pres­sure. He will get through this. Our asso­ci­ation with Sun­der­land over the years has been inter­est­ing. Two of our former play­ers have even become man­agers. Now we have Wes Brown and John O’Shea com­ing back and they will be made wel­come.
