Manchester United evergreen Paul Scholes, who scored with a magnificent long distance effort in the 2–0 victory against Queens Park Rangers last Sunday, is likely to be rested for the away clash with struggling Wigan Athletic on Wednesday. As for The Latics, Colombia international Hugo Rodallega in doubt with a knee complaint.
Apparenty, Paul Scholes is enjoying something of an Indian summer at the moment. The ball playing midfield man made an astonishing return to the Manchester United first team when he came out of retirement to help The Manchester Reds defeat longtime crosstown adversaries Manchester City 3–2 at the Etihad Stadium in the FA Cup Third Round back in January. The Manchester United stalwart, who belongs to the rare breed of soccer players who embrace values like loyalty and hard work, has made almost 500 league apperances during a professional footballing career that so far has spanned twenty years.
