Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Paul Scholes will return to the side for the match against Aston Villa. The smooth passing midfield general was rested for the encounter with neighbouring Wigan Athletic at DW Stadium on Wednesday where Manchester United suffered an embarrassing 1– 0 defeat.
Evergreen Paul Scholes has been in outstanding form recently and his absence from the Manchester United first team was no doubt felt against a highly competent Wigan Athletic side during midweek. After making a surprise return against bitter crosstown adversaries Manchester City back in January, the ever consistent and dependable midfield playmaker has enjoyed an astonishing comeback so far this campaign. Fortunately for Manchester United, Paul Scholes is prepared and ready for the battle against Alex McLeish´s Aston Villa players at Old Trafford this Sunday as Sir Alex Ferguson´s title challengers look for three important points. Nevertheless, the upcoming meeting against The Villains could be a difficult match for The Manchester Reds because the struggling visitors will get ten men behind the ball and put the pressure on the home side. Eric Harrison: “What happens with Paul Scholes, I think he likes somebody to tell him, not how good he is because he’s been told that a million times, but for somebody to tell him he can go on longer.”
