Sir Alex Ferguson Bides His Time
July 27, 2010 by Chris Marker · 1 Comment
Old Trafford manager Sir Alex Ferguson has, as the time honoured cliche has it, come a long way to the top. The Scot has built his whole managerial career on the sound principles that he learned as a Clydeside apprentice and over the years he has acquired a world wide reputation for his fighting spirit and honest workmanship.
Under the wise and shrewd stewardship of the man who once managed minnows East Stirlingshire, Manchester United became the wealthiest soccer club in the world by far in the 1990´s by quite simply winning a lot of football matches. But after the euphoria comes the backbiting. And while the Manchester United supporters turn against the Florida based club owners, Sir Alex Ferguson does not. With a head reasonably full of knowledge and experience, the successful Manchester United gaffer calls for unity on and off the football field. Despite of the fact that Manchester United continue to be linked with high profile international players from all over the world, the experienced coach insists he is more than happy with his current Old Trafford squad and that he does not need to spend vast sums of money to recapture the Premier League title. Even though the persistent Manchester United officials keep on stressing that the club is financially secure, it is probably only fair to say that too many balance sheets are wavering in the soft summer breeze at the very moment. It´s a well known fact that local brewer John Davies saved Newton Heath from going bankrupt in 1902. In the summer of 2003 came the Americans.
