Sir Alex Fer­guson has sent his con­grat­u­la­tions to old foes Manchester City after their dra­matic vic­tory over Queens Park Rangers at East­lands. Des­pite defeat­ing Sun­der­land 1–0 away, Manchester United were denied the title as The Light Blues beat The Hoops 3–2 thanks to goals from Edin Dzeko and Ser­gio Aguero in stop­page time.

After wait­ing for 44 years, Manchester City are the cham­pi­ons of Eng­land for the third time in the long his­tory of the club.
