Sir Alex Ferguson´s Manchester United team are now only three points ahead of fellow title challengers Manchester City following the sensational 4–4 draw against Everton at Old Trafford on Sunday. Despite leading by two goals in the middle of the second period, the home side fell to late goals from Nikica Jelavic and Steven Pienaar.
Manchester United currently leads the Barclays Premier League with 83 points from 35 games. As for second placed Manchester City, the light blue shirts won their Sunday clash with Terry Connor´s battling Wolverhampton Wanderers team at Molineux Stadium by 2–0 courtesy of goals from Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri. Should Manchester City emerge victorious from the Manchester derby next Monday, Roberto Mancini´s players will go top of the Premier League on goal difference with just two games remaining.
