Sir Alex Fer­guson was brim­ming with con­fid­ence after his play­ers se­cured a con­vin­cing 3–1 tri­umph against Harry Redknapp´s Tot­ten­ham Hot­spur at White Hart Lane on Sunday.  Fur­ther­more, the Manchester United boss now be­lieves the club have a de­cent chance of over­tak­ing old foes Manchester City in the Premier League table.

Sir Alex Fer­guson: “We know ex­actly what we’ve got to do. We won’t be nervous. There’s only two points dif­fer­ence to lead­ers Manchester City and we’ve been in this situ­ation be­fore. We have play­ers com­ing back from in­jury. Tom Clev­er­ley is com­ing back and Chris Smalling will be back on Thursday. It was a great per­form­ance by Tot­ten­ham and maybe we got our tac­tics wrong in the first half. In the second period we improved.”
