Sir Alex Ferguson Is Impressed

Manchester United chief Sir Alex Ferguson was full of praise for born again goal scorer Wayne Rooney after his brilliant overhead kick against old crosstown rivals Manchester City at The Theatre of Dreams on Saturday. The England international´s spectacular bicycle kick in the 78th minute of play gave Manchester United a narrow 2–1 victory in the Manchester derby and moved the club eight points clear of fierce title contenders Manchester City.
Sir Alex Ferguson has given the frustrated and troubled Wayne Rooney an enormous amount of protection and support this season, allowing him plenty of time and space to sort out his much publicised problems both on and off the football field. Being a shrewd reader of human character, the Old Trafford manager is widely known for getting the best out of his players. The former toolmaker has, however, never been afraid of making tough management decisions to axe his players as long as it´s in the best interests of the club. It sometimes seems Sir Alex Ferguson and Wayne Rooney have been simply made for each other. Or to use other words: No nut without a cracker, no cracker without a nut.

Well let’s see if Rooney can crack on now and start producing some good performances after that goal, because to put it bluntly he has had an absolute stinker this season.
