Manchester United are said to have agreed a trans­fer fee of around £26 mil­lion with Campe­onato Brasileiro Serie A team Sao Paulo for the pur­chase of mid­field player Lu­cas Moura. The Brazil in­ter­na­tional has at­trac­ted the in­terest of a num­ber of top clubs already this sum­mer, in­clud­ing In­ternazionale and Real Mad­rid amongst others.

Lu­cas Rodrig­ues Moura da Silva joined local out­fit Sao Paulo in 2005 and made his first team de­but for the Es­ta­dio do Mor­umbi club in 2010. The at­tack minded mid­field dy­namo de­b­uted for Brazil in a com­fort­able 2–0 suc­cess against Scot­land at the Emir­ates Sta­dium in Lon­don in March 2011 and has ap­peared for the coun­try of his birth on 15 oc­ca­sions so far. Lu­cas Moura has been one of the most coveted young play­ers of the sum­mer, draw­ing in­terest from nu­mer­ous lead­ing clubs all over Europe. Sir Alex Fer­guson: “At this mo­ment we´re look­ing at other op­tions in terms of bring­ing other play­ers in. We´re not ly­ing on our back­sides do­ing noth­ing. We´re try­ing hard to bring other play­ers to the club.”
