According to Forbes Magazine, David Gill´s Manchester United are still the most valuable franchise in sports. The Barclays Premier League club, who have an estimated fan base of 333 million worldwide, top the Forbes list ahead of old European rivals Real Madrid in second place and New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys in joint third.
Although Manchester United have been written off many times since Malcolm Glazer´s takeover back in the summer of 2005, The Manchester Reds remain the English Premier League’s most successful club. David Gill: “The Barclays Premier League has been the most professionally run league in football. Manchester United are leaders in a sport that is growing. There is growth to come. It is exciting. The World Cup is getting bigger. The Champions League is getting bigger. The Premier League is getting bigger.”
