Wayne Rooney To Recover In Time

Although Wayne Rooney missed the 3–1 win over Tottenham at Old Trafford last Saturday with a groin injury sustained in training, the striker is expected to be ready for Manchester United’s Premier League game against Sunderland. Rooney also made a surprise comeback against Bayern Munich in the Champions League just a week after supposedly being ruled out for at least three weeks with an ankle problem.
Wayne Rooney now aims to return for the important encounter with Sunderland at The Stadium of Light as Manchester United desperately need to win to move above fellow title challengers Chelsea. This would undoubtedly be good news for Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson unless the prolific forward suffers yet another injury. Despite of the fact Manchester United are in more need of victory than The Black Cats, they obviously have to work very hard to overcome a confident Sunderland side who have beaten the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham at home this season.
Wayne Rooney was sidelined with an ankle injury sustained in the first clash with The Bavarians but he returned for the second leg ahead of schedule.
